PTFE®

Description

PTFE, known by the brand name Teflon, is impermeable to all liquids and gases. PTFE rings do not suffer from spiral failure. Due to their stiffness, PTFE rings have low sealing power and do not have memory, and they have a high compression set, which means that they do not return to their original state after applying pressure. In terms of chemical resistance, it should be said that it is neutral and resistant to solutions. It is incompatible with liquid alkali metals, fluorine, some halogenated compounds at high temperatures.
