HNBR - Hydrogenated Nitrile (Hydrogenated NBR)

The wear and temperature properties of HNBR are improved compared to NBR. And its resistance to oil and solvents is higher than NBR.

It has good resistance to heat and ozone.

Description

data sheet

  • HNBR stands for Hydrogenated Acrylonitrile Butadiene Rubber, which is the NBR elastomer that is hydrogenated and its structure is saturated, it has very few double bonds. The functional behavior of HNBR depends on the percentage of acrylonitrile in its structure, molecular weight and degree of hydrogenation. With hydrogenation, the resistance of this product against oil is improved and its service temperature is also higher. Typically, HNBR can be counted on in the range of -25 to 160°C.
  • But it should be kept in mind that the cost of HNBR is higher due to the more complicated production process compared to NBR, and like NBR, it has little resistance to flame and electricity. The application range of HNBR is between two elastomers, NBR and FKM. This material was developed to fill the empty space between these two elastomers. HNBR is a very favorable option for producing parts (such as o-rings, diaphragms, etc.) that require high resistance to UV rays and ozone, are in contact with hot water vapor (up to 150 degrees Celsius), with sulfur gases in are in contact or exposed to high operating temperatures.
